Photographer and writer, Kristen currently lives just outside of bustling London. People and their stories are at the heart of the work she produces.
Her main focuses at this time are portrait photography, interviews, feature articles and writing for her own blog. Kristen has been writing for as long as she can remember but only started taking it seriously after graduating. Similarly with photography, it was only something she thought about later on in life, but she has been perfecting her craft for almost 3 years.
Kristen loves to explore and document modern British culture, mainly through music, literature and sub-cultures. This has led to her working with UK based publication such as ‘Feat,’ ‘Its Culture’. She is also interested in capturing the experiences of the South African diaspora and is working on a project that will bring together her musings.
Kristen has been working closely with ODB for about 2 years. As well as producing written press material, Kristen has also shot studio sessions, artist portraits and press images.
She is inspired by artists like SZA, as well as as writers like Yrsa Daley-Ward, Aniefiok Ekpoudom and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Photography wise she loves the work of Christina Ebeneezer, Nesrin Danan and Vicky Grout.
Aside from feature pieces, Kristen is also able to produce blog articles, press releases, bios and website copy.
